A new workers’ compensation law went into effect in July 2018 and changed the duration of benefits for older injured workers and permanently totally disabled injured workers. The new law terminates benefits at age 70. The July 2018 law was intended to be retroactive, meaning it applied to all claims which were not yet final rather than applying only to injuries which occurred after the law went into effect.
